About Oxylife 2020 Uganda Limited
Oxylife 2020 Uganda Limited is a pioneering healthcare company and the first of its kind in Uganda to manufacture and distribute medical grade oxygen certified and approved for human use. Now entering its fifth year of operations, Oxylife has built a credible foundation in an essential healthcare segment ensuring a reliable, domestically produced supply of life-saving oxygen to hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities across Uganda.
Having established its production infrastructure and obtained regulatory approval, Oxylife is now focused on aggressive market development, building brand presence across the healthcare sector, growing sales volumes, and expanding its distribution network nationally and into the wider East African region. The incoming CEO will lead this growth chapter.
Purpose of the Role
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide the overall strategic, commercial, and operational leadership of Oxylife 2020 Uganda Limited. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be accountable for driving revenue growth and market penetration, building and leading a high-performance team, and positioning Oxylife as the dominant and most trusted supplier of medical grade oxygen in Uganda.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a 5-year strategy with annual operating plans and measurable milestones.
- Translate strategy into actionable goals, performance KPIs, and resource plans.
- Identify new market opportunities including public sector health facilities, NGOs, faith-based hospitals, and export markets.
- Lead comprehensive product and brand marketing strategies.
2. Commercial Growth & Sales Leadership
- Drive revenue growth and exceed sales targets.
- Build senior-level relationships with hospital administrators, Ministry of Health officials, and distributors.
- Oversee go-to-market strategies, pricing, supply agreements, and tendering processes.
- Lead, coach, and scale the sales team.
3. Operations, Production & Quality Oversight
- Ensure executive oversight of plant operations for safety, efficiency, and full NDA compliance.
- Maintain high production capacity, supply chain integrity, and quality certifications.
- Manage logistics, fleet, and procurement operations.
4. Financial Management & HR
- Prepare budgets, manage cash flow, and ensure robust financial controls.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Person Specifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree: Bachelor’s in Medicine & Surgery (MBChB), Pharmacy (BPharm), Biomedical Engineering, Nursing Science OR Business/Marketing with strong healthcare background[.
- Postgraduate: MBA, Health Services Management, Public Health, or relevant master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years (7+ preferred) in senior executive/leadership roles within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or medical manufacturin.
- Track Record: Proven capability in driving commercial growth, institutional supply contracts, and team leadership.
